It's me, Shealagh :]

 

I've witnessed a lot of people doing great things, but few with as much strength of heart or contagious spirit as Celeste Satya. To maintain such spirit in the face of so much grief, heart break and uncertainty is a terrible and a beautiful thing to bear witness to.

 

Losing the support of her boys father meant dealing solo with many close calls & hospitalizations in her eldest son's early years. Even after many years of ongoing care for her youngest son as a result of illness, and the extreme exhaustion of dealing with both family & workplace pressure, she continues to rise.

 

Her decades of service teaching yoga, self-healing, wellness support work and supervising other support staff at an addiction & trauma centre while navigating the mental health system on her son's behalf really speaks to her long term commitment to family, community, and the dream of a more peaceful world.

 

Finding a new community after leaving her home in Squamish, a new opportunity for her and her family to grow has appeared in Summerland. With her youngest son needing somewhere safe where he can find new purpose, she has dreamed up a place where yoga, meditation & a wellness community can grow around them.

 

I'm asking for your help. If even half of the people Celeste know's through Facebook were willing to part with $20 to fuel this fire, this dream will become a reality. Your money will pay for signage, lighting, fixtures, displays, supplies & updates to the studio space.

 

I would love to be sipping a warm chai with you at this new space, basking in the warmth of her huge smile as Christmas rolls in this year - our much hoped for goal date :]
