Kickstart a queer, Jewish, community art project

Hi! I'm Tom - a multidisciplinary artist working across the UK.

This year I started A Double Blessing; a multimedia project exploring themes of queerness, gender, heritage, spirituality and community.

I've been researching all the intricate and beautiful ways that spirituality and sexuality, specifically in relation to my own working class Jewish refugee roots. I'm using film, theatre, creative writing and workshops over the next year to make collaborative pieces of art and performance on the subject.

As a neurodiverse and working class self employed artist I face various challengewhen starting a project and trying to live and survive at the same time! This Summer, I'm taking part in a residency with Strike A Light and performing some material at Fringe Theatre Fest - but I need a small amount of funding to cover my time and expenses at this early stage so the project can develop.

In the future, I hope to get further funding but right now I'm asking people to support the project through mutual aid with small, individual donations. This way, the project will be collectively owned and everyone will be involved.

I would especially like to reach out to as many of my fellow queer, Jewish peers as possible and begin this journey together! Every person who donates will have their name on the project page of my website. If everyone donates between £1 - £10 we can bring this collaborative, communal experience to life
