Beating Renal Cancer Holistically!

Dear Friends & Family~
Most of you know Mom's journey, but for those of you who do not, let me share...

In 2006, Mom was diagnosed with renal cancer.  The doctor's proposed cure at that time was a nephrectamy.  In January of 2006, at Rush Hospital a surgeon removed Mom's left kidney.  The healing process was slow but steady.  Life went on.   Scans came back clear on a monthly, quarterly and then bi-annual basis.   Her right kidney was clear and functioning well!

Six years passed.  Grandbabies grew, children thrived and life was good.

Then in 2012, during a routine scan she received devastating news--the cancer had returned, this time in her pancreas.  The renal oncologist at Rush proposed a drastic surgery, removing the tail of her pancreas and her spleen.  Mom had the surgery in January of 2012.  She stayed in ICU for 4 days and in the hospital for 8.  The healing process was once again a slow and arduous one.  She remained home from work for well over a month and still feels the effects from this drastic surgery to this day.  Because the pancreas is part of the digestive system and produces digestive enzymes, she fights stomach pains on an almost daily basis.  When her diet is on, she does well.  When she strays from organic, whole foods, she is in pain.  That said it could have been worse,  there was a 50/50 chance that she would become diabetic and she did not!

In October 2014, during a routine checkup, lesions were found in Mom's right kidney.  Remeber, the right one is doing all of the work.  Her partner split.  The doctors performed a cryoablation to removed the cancer cells from her right kidney.

In August of this year, Mom went in with some aches and pains.  The doctors ordered a CAT scan, they found 4 lesions in what remained of her pancreas.  They performed a biopsy and confirmed that the cancer has returned.  The oncologist team at Rush proposed taking the rest of Mom's pancreas, ensuring that she will become diabetic and need to ingest digestive enzymes for the rest of her life.  They insist this even more drastic measure is our best bet for a cure, however can not ensure it.  Mom sought out a second opinion from a well known renal oncologist in Milwaukee and he concurred.

In the United States, the only legal means of treating cancer is through surgery, radiation or chemotherapy.

We believe that there is another way and so does the Gerson Clinic.  Mom is at the tail end of her two week stay at a clinic in AZ that specializes in the Gerson way of life, allowing food to nurture your body so that it may fight.  She is feeling strong and healthy.  The pains she arrived with are gone and her stomach is feeling good!  She is feeling and seeing the change in her body.  Now, remember what I said earlier?  In the United States, the only legal means of treating cancer is through surgery, radiation and chemotherapy.  This means that any other means of fighting is up to you--up to you too seek it and up to you to fund it.

Several people have asked to help, and have suggested this means of doing so.  We reluctantly agreed, not because we do not want your prayers or help but because exposing yourself is hard.  Thank you, thank you to all of you amazing people who want to help and kept on letting us know that you wanted to do so.  We are grateful and humbled.
