Naser Murad is a talented, dedicated, and truly inspiring young athlete who has been selected to represent Australia as part of Deaf Football Australia’s Men’s National Team — the Deafaroos. The team has proudly qualified for the 2025 Deaflympics, to be held in Japan from November 11 to 28.

Naser is a Year 12 student at Orara High School in Coffs Harbour, NSW. He is a proud Deaf Yazidi refugee from Iraq, and a passionate soccer player. Since arriving in Australia in 2018 — with no English or Auslan — Naser has overcome enormous challenges with resilience, determination, and an unbreakable spirit. Soccer became his way to connect, communicate, and grow — both on and off the field.

He comes from an extraordinary family, with four profoundly Deaf siblings, and is a role model to all of them. Recently, he served as an inspiration to younger Deaf children at a local Deaf camp, where his leadership and positivity left a lasting impact. Naser is not only excelling in sport but also achieving highly at school and in his personal life, proving himself to be a rising star and a young man of great character.

Now, Naser has the chance to proudly represent Australia on the world stage — but he needs our help to get there.

To make this dream a reality, Naser needs to raise $8,000 to help cover travel and tournament costs. We are seeking donations from individuals, businesses, and community members who want to help a young leader take the next step in his journey.
