Kicking Cancers Butt! Help support Corey!

A couple years ago, Corey was diagnosed with Diffuse Large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) which is an aggressive type of non-Hodgkin lymphoma. First round-a-bout Corey kicked butt and got rid of the cancer! What a praise that was!
In October of 2019 right after marrying his beautiful bride Seana and celebrating one of the best days of his life, Corey was hospitalized for 2 weeks with severe pneumonia and was told that some of the scans looked suspicious. Right after Christmas Corey began to get very sick and we found out that his cancer came back in multiple places. Large B Cell Lymphoma is a very aggressive form of cancer and by this point it had spread like wildfire. Corey was in a lot of pain because one particularly large tumor was pushing on the base of his spine which was very painful causing issues with sleeping, working, sitting and doing everyday life things.
Since the cancer was so aggressive, Corey was hospitalized in May of 2020 and was in the hospital for two weeks. Since it was in the beginning of COVID it was especially hard for us because we could not go see him. He was in and out of it because they were pumping him full of chemo drugs and we didn't know if he was sleeping or anything that was happening. The drugs were so powerful he experienced neuro-toxicity, which caused him to be unaware of his surroundings, unresponsive and have memory loss for 3 days. On top of it he was fighting anemia and severe edema in his legs. After his hospitalization Corey had lost so much weight and muscle mass it was hard to recognize him. But there is something about him that he is a fighter. He did not let any of that stop him!
Since May 2020, Corey has had 6 additional rounds of chemo every other Tuesday. Someone would take him down to Jefferson in Philly and he would sit for 8 hours getting his chemo treatment to kick cancers butt! Corey has been out of work since March.
Which brings me to the next step in his treatment... In October Corey will be headed to back to Jefferson for a stem cell transplant and will be hospitalized for a minimum of three weeks and will be out of work for an indeterminable amount of time after. Seana will most likely also be out of work during this time so that she can stay with him in the hospital. This procedure completely wipes out Corey's immune system and is even higher risk due to COVID, so his daughter Sarah and the rest of our family and friends will not be able to see him in person until after he comes home.
All of this brings me to the fact that between the hospital stays, the chemo treatments, the stem cell transplant and being out of work has really put a strain on Corey & Seana. Only so much is covered by insurance and the medical bills just keep coming and will continue to do so. They are not sure if this procedure is going to be covered by insurance and it is very costly, but one that is worth having done since it can hopefully prevent this cancer from ever coming back.
If anyone who knows Corey, knows that he has a HUGE heart of gold. He is very hard-working, caring and a wonderful husband and loving father. I may be his little sister, but I have always looked up to him. He has always been there for me and I am sure at some point in your life he has been there for you too! I am doing this to support him and to get him through this trying time. We love Corey so much and are so thankful for all the prayers and support he has been given so far! Let's help him get through this and kick cancers butt!
