Kicking Cancer For Kate

Raised in Burlington, ON, Kate Fraser spent over a decade creating magic and bringing joy to children worldwide playing Ariel in "Disney on Ice".

After retiring from skating in order to care for her own mother as she battled several rounds of cancer, Kate met and found her soulmate in the quick-witted Brent Fraser, and his furry sidekick, Tasha. Together, Kate and Brent created their beautiful family, two girls and a boy, settling once again in the Burlington community to raise their children.

In March of 2016, at the age of 38, Kate received the devastating news that she had Stage 4 Breast Cancer. At the time, her children were just 7, 5, and 3.

Courageously and unwaveringly supported by her rock, Brent, and her friends and family, Kate has bravely fought this merciless disease with strength and fortitude, while never losing her grace, joy, and generous spririt: the very hallmarks of Kate Fraser.

But first and foremost, Kate is a mother to three precious children.

In the past 2 years, Kate has received several rounds of chemotherapy, and will receive an immunotherapy drug for 18 months to help stabilize her condition.

Every 4 weeks, Kate must travel to Princess Margaret Hospital for doctor appointments, in addition to her regular CT's and other tests.

Twice a week, Kate must go for Vitamin C injections, that help boost Kate's immunity, which was completely compromised by her many rounds of chemotherapy.
 
These injections cost $279 each. That totals $29,000 per year for Kate to receive treatment that increases her chances of fighting the common cold, in addition to the cancer.

As evidenced, fighting cancer becomes a full-time job.

From medical fees, vitamins, to help with home care, the costs associated with fighting Stage 4 cancer are staggering, and would create a financial strain to anyone, let alone a family with 3 young children.
