Kick Cancer With Kyler

Donation protected
Imagine one day going camping with your mom and your brother, and the next you’re laying in a hospital bed with slurred speech, downturn mouth and prepping for surgery. That was the reality of 8 year old Kyler. In just a couple short weeks, he went from running and playing to losing his balance and severe headaches. A visit to the emergency room found their worst nightmare, an inoperable brain tumor. A kid who loves the outdoors and spending time in nature with his family and his fellow Scouts is now facing a challenge that no one should face, cancer. Kyler is a fighter, but there’s no cure for DIPG. Diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma, or DIPG, is the most aggressive form of pediatric cancer. A child diagnosed with DIPG today faces the same prognosis as a child diagnosed 40 years ago. There is still no effective treatment and no chance of survival. Only 10% of children with DIPG survive for 2 years following their diagnosis, and less than 1% survive for 5 years. Radiation treatment is available but it can only dampen symptoms. There are also experimental trials available but they are very new so the results are unknown. Kyler is unable to go to school, as he needs constant care. Mom has taken a leave from work to be with him and take him to his many appointments so in addition to the crippling medical bills, they’ve lost a source of income as well. This family deserves this time to laugh together, to think together, and to live together. Give them that chance with a donation of any size. Any donation made to this Go Fund Me will go directly to helping Kyler and his family fight for every minute he can get. So please, help Kyler Kick Cancer! To note: I am Kyler’s aunt. The funds from this campaign will be withdrawn into a bank account that I created in my name to benefit Kyler. All donations will be withdrawn and paid directly to the hospital for any medical bills incurred through Kyler’s treatment.
