Hey y'all-
Theron here, as I posted about Mom/Queenie/Mama Tek/Mrs. Tek/Lisa a few days ago, she has been recently dianosed with stage four breast cancer. The support has been overwhelming and our family and momma are/were just overwhelmed by y'all. We decided to start a GoFundMe for those of you who desired to bless us in this way.
For those who maybe stumbled across our site by accident or you're a friend of a friend, this is a great opportunity for me to brag on who my mom is a little bit. She's a servant. She's been a school teacher 20+ years and the majority of her time is spent with young ladies through drill team. As many, former, current or future team members might tell you, she dedicates most of her time to her program-which is currently the Allen High School Tallenettes. I've had a front row seat at just how tirelessly she's worked to create the best opportunities for these young ladies to be able to enjoy their time on drill team, to learn, to create, to challenge themselves, to grow, to be inspired, to be proud of their accomplishments and their growth, to dance, but most importantly to become the women that they knew they could be.
As we are quickly learning, there's a fair amount of expense that comes along with these treatments and many of you have graciously asked how you can help. We will always say, prayer is the most powerful thing you can do for her, so please continue to do so. But for those who would like to bless us in this way, we would like to make this available and we so appreciate your geneoristy. The reason the ask is high, is treatment cost conservatively looks to be roughly 20K (on the low end) and there will still be added expenses to that. She is starting her first round of chemo and has already fronted some of this cost, but we know it will continue, as too, will unforseen expenses. If you have any questions at all on how these funds will be used, I am certainly open to talking with anyone and answering questions.
Cancer can be scary and it's become common place. There's so many Americans who face it every day without people in their corner. Mrs. Tek is not one of those people. Just seeing the outpouring of support in the shorttime she's gone public has been astronomical. If I said nothing else and just how much you have blessed us, I could never fully tell you how much our family appreciates each and everyone of you. One thing I think we can all agree on is mom is a fighter and it's not in her nature to quit. However, you feel lead to partner with us, big or small, through prayer, through quality time with her, whatever it looks like-we appreciate it and you.
Our family has laid this firmly at the foot of our Savior, Jesus. He has shown through His graciousness that she/we are not in this alone. He's always controlled her fate and He's always been in control, this diagnosis doesn't change that. We have been comforted by each of you but we also have comfort knowing these truths, we have a Hope. There are many who do not. So my personal ask, is when you remember my sweet mother-will you please remember all those who are fighting this annoying disease and specifically for those who don't share this Hope.
We love you and we are so grateful for family/friends/loved ones/supporters. This is why she's always fought-for each of y'all. Thank you for your time and God Bless.
