Hi, my name is Sebastian Heyes, and I’m a 14 year old kickboxer with a huge dream: I want to represent my country by earning a place on Team GB.
Kickboxing isn’t just a sport to me - it’s where I feel most myself. I feel focused, confident, and so proud of my ability and everything I’ve achieved since taking up the sport 3 years ago.
Life hasn’t always been easy for me, I’ve had times where I really struggle with confidence and believing in myself - Kickboxing has changed that.
It’s given me a sense of purpose and a confidence I didn’t have for a long time. It gives me a way to express myself that I haven't found anywhere else. When I’m on the mats, I am proud of who I am. That’s why fighting for Team GB would mean so much - it’s not just about competing; it’s about proving to myself how far I’ve come.
To be considered for Team GB, I need to compete in many important tournaments, gaining experience and earning recognition. One of the biggest upcoming opportunities for me is the Yokoso Dutch Open in Amsterdam, March 2026. Competing there would be a huge step forward in my journey.
But travelling, competing, and preparing for these events is expensive. I’m fundraising to help cover:
• Travel to national and international competitions
• Entry fees for essential tournaments
• Training and equipment costs
• Opportunities to take part in major championships that count toward Team GB selection
Thank you so much for reading my story. Every donation, whether big or small, makes a real difference and even if you can’t donate, sharing my fundraiser would help me reach more people. I’m working hard every day to make my dream a reality, and your kindness helps keep me moving forward.
Thank you,
Seb
