Kick The Clowns Out & No Kings Carnival (Lansing June 14)
Donation protected
On June 14th, help us transform Lansing into a whirlwind of whimsy, satire, and solidarity for a day of joyful resistance! 50501 MI is building a coalition to provide food, carnival games, side show spectacles and a spirited march. Alongside dozens of partner organizations and businesses, we’ll mock the madness, dream out loud, and co-create a vision of the future we all deserve.
In order to deliver the best show under the big top, we need to be able to:
- pay our entertainers
- supply food
- get supplies to make set pieces
- print off banners and flyers
- purchase a ton of water bottles
- have plenty of porta-potties (which are not cheap).
To pull this off, we need funding at a grassroots level. Anything that you can afford to give will go towards us putting on an amazing event. Join us in creating an impactful & memorable day of joyful resistance - your support can help make this event unforgettable for all attendees!

About the Event:
On June 14th, we rally to confront the crises fueled by the Trump regime—defending marginalized communities, exposing corruption, and demanding real change. Our protest features powerful speeches and demonstrations, united in resistance and solidarity.
Following the protest, we’ll host a sharp, satirical carnival—not to celebrate Trump, but to mock and expose his absurdity. Using humor, parody, and bold satire, we aim to weaken his fragile grip on power and turn his birthday into a spectacle of resistance.
Why Satire Matters:
Art and humor are vital tools of resistance—breaking censorship, exposing hypocrisy, and inspiring collective action. Our carnival will feature satirical games, art installations highlighting injustices, and performances like drag shows and comedy—all aimed at undermining the regime’s legitimacy.
Schedule:
11a-12p: Ingham County Democrats' Tribute Rally for Ted Lawson
12p-2p: Protest & Speeches
2p-3p: March
3p-6p: Street Carnival & Creative Acts
Throughout: Mutual Aid Drive supporting local communities
Mutual Aid Drive:
Donate shelf-stable food, hygiene supplies, gender-affirming items, first aid, and clothing to empower neighborhoods and promote collective sustainability. Donations will be going to Detroit Resistance Book Club & General Strike US - Michigan.
Why We Must Act:
To defend immigrant rights, oppose ICE atrocities, fight for LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC justice, protect reproductive rights, and challenge systemic injustices - building broad coalitions for a more equitable future.
Join Us:
Stand with us to oppose tyranny, uphold democracy, and turn satire into a powerful act of resistance. Share, invite others, and help amplify our call for justice. Together, through peaceful protest, creative satire, and collective resolve, we will challenge injustice and forge a future rooted in dignity and hope.
