Terry Jamerson Hunt Let's kick some ALS!

In May of this year I was diagnosed with ALS, commonly know as Lou Gehrig's disease, at Mayo Clinic.  ALS breaks down the nerves resulting in muscle weakness and eventual paralysis. Mayo Clinic told me that I had a 3-5 year window of survival and there was little they could do to help. Well, Almighty God had something extremely different to say about that! By God's magnificent grace my friend, Darcy Cady, we found out about Dr. Jay Lombard in Tarrytown, NY. In September my husband, Lewis, and I had an appointment with Dr.  Lombard.  Dr. Lombard described to me how I got this horrific disease that killed my mother...but first he shared with us that he works for God.  God is his boss! When I told him I had to quit my job as Children's Minister at St. John's Cathedral he teared up and told me, " We have to get you back working for The Kingdom". He immediately emailed his colleague, Dr. Marc Abreu.  Dr. Marc Abreu, (BTT Medical Institute www.bttcorp.com) is another brilliant, compassionate and Godly doctor who has dedicated his life to working on treatments for "diagnose and adios" neurological diseases. My first appointment with Dr. Abreu was on October 24 and I was accepted as his patient!! There are presently 1000+ people wanting to see this amazing man, but I got in , leading me to conclude that God is not finished with me yet! With heat shock and light treatments, Dr. Abreu has had amazing success reversing the effects of ALS!! Thanks be to God! My first treatment is scheduled for December 1 in Westport, CT. I am SO excited and hopeful! ALS has humbled me as nothing else in my life ever has. A year ago I was running 12-15 miles a week. Today I "wobbly walk", sometimes fall and can not get up without help. I need help dressing and taking care of some basic hygiene. ALS has stolen my job, my voice and eating is extremely challenging. But God is faithful and has lead me to Drs. Lombard and Abreu with a purpose and a ministry! I'm looking forward to seeing what He has in store. My hope is that I only need one treatment as they are extremely and nothing is covered by insurance. Again ALS humbles me to reach out through this Go Fund Me account, something I thought I would never have to do, but I want to live! I want to live, declare God's goodness, see where He leads me, help others with ALS, rock and kiss grandbabies and grow old with Lewis. I have prayed over this decision and spoken with my Dean,Kate and felt lead to move forward.  If you feel moved to donate, i can not thank you enough, you're literally my lifesavers.
