Kick carcinomas ass!

Hey, I’m Liv! I’m 23 from Long Island. This past March, I was diagnosed with a rare aggressive cervical cancer called clear cell carcinoma. It has been a war and it is not over! I was immediately put off work and sadly did not qualify for disability or SNAP benefit- it has been difficult the past six months sadly. It started with daily blood work, hormone therapy to prepare for an egg retrieval, froze 14 eggs, got a biopsy and colonoscopy, 35 rounds of IMRT radiation, seven six hour cisplatin chemo infusions. My cancer then grew and fought against the chemo making me unable to receive my seeds for HDR radiation so we rescheduled to go under anesthesia again for a radical hysterectomy. Next I will now get my seeds surgically put in followed by three brachytherapy sessions. I have a great support team of family, friends, and doctors. Thankfully helping me financially throughout my treatment. However after seven months, the thought of how much my past bills have been turns my stomach. Still having $1,983 and change pending- IMRT radiation, cat scan, behavioral therapy, hormone therapy, egg retrieval, blood work, pet scan and a biopsy. On top of that, what we are praying will be my last procedure and three treatments of brachytherapy radiation will then be added to that as well. I have managed to wear a smile throughout my treatment, through the pain and the dark days but it is more stressful then I will let anyone know. I first thought a gofundme for myself was tacky or greedy but I had reached out to my therapist specializing in oncology and she gave me the reassuring courage that it’s ok to ask for help- especially now. The goal is to cover my medical bills so cancer can fully be out of my life when treatment it over! And because of my pending surgery and treatment- I am still unsure when I will be cleared to work, making goal #2 to help Liv get back on her feet.
