Ki & DeeJay Fight Cancer Together

Donation protected
When cancer strikes, it can be hard to reach out for help. So I'm reaching out on behalf of my mom, Debbie Hassett (DeeJay), and her partner of 16 years, Ki Khan (who many of you know  as Park Thun).

On May 12, 2016, Ki was diagnosed with inoperable, stage 4, metastatic liver cancer.   It is a terminal disease.

As of now, Ki's is trying to stay positive, but the outlook is grim.

The purpose of raising these funds is to allow Ki and my mom some breathing room financially and, in turn, mentally.

It's to allow them the dignity and privilege of spending what may be Ki's final weeks and months together without the overwhelming stress of money positioned front and center.

Ki came home from the hospital, on Saturday, May 20th,  and will be working with hospice through these difficult times ahead.    Ki's insurance does not pay for home care, nor will it pay Debbie as a CNA  to stay home to care for him.

Without financial assistance, she would either need to put Ki in an assisted living facility for his final stretch or risk great financial hardship by choosing not to work so she can be at home to care for him and his medical needs,  There will be numerous trips to doctors and hopefully treatment ahead that she will need to help him through, and to be there as he goes through the pain and nausea as the disease takes control of his body.

I'm contributing all I can and I'm reaching out to anyone who might feel moved to do the same.

If Ki or my mom have touched your life in any way, please take a moment to consider whether you are able to help. Even a small gesture matters greatly.

If you live near the Eau Claire/Chippewa Falls, WI area, you are incredibly welcome to donate your time as well. They have a need for help with lawn care, clean-up of "stuff" that has to be towed away, and other chores around the large yard and gardens they have both lovingly tended and cared for. Ki started a number of projects around the property that could also use home "helping hands" to finish up for his sweetheart.

By offering a donation today, you're ultimately offering
the gifts of time, peace, dignity and love.

And that is everything a family battling the  dark ravages cancer can really ask for.

Thank you, on behalf of Ki and Debbie, for your time, care and generosity.
