Kiara is blind, facing homelessness & needs help!

Kiara Parker, one of my dearest friends, has suddenly and tragically become legally blind. This disabling life event has been a challenging adjustment, as Kiara has been fearless and independent all her life.

I am humbly asking for assistance on her behalf as this situation continues to take a critical turn despite Kiara's persistent efforts to slow down the progress of her condition causing her to lose her vision.

She has lost her job due to becoming legally blind and is currently facing homelessness. She has gone through multiple surgeries that have had minimal effect. She is in the process of filing for disability benefits, however, that takes a significant amount of time to process (up to 11 months, best case scenario, if not longer) including application denials extending the wait time before an approval is made.

Her life must go on, and we want her to be able to care for herself during this time of uncertainty, remain housed, and be able to afford desperately needed medication that is NOT covered by her insurance.

The medication is expensive but necessary to improve her quality of life. It has been my experience, that asking for help is one of the scariest things to do, especially when there is a disabling life event and you are particularly vulnerable, so here I am asking on Kiara's behalf.

Please consider donating to support Kiara. She is my sister, my friend and is loved by so many. All donations will go directly towards Kiara's housing expenses, medication, and funding for her transition with this new challenge while she waits for her disability to be approved.
