Kian’s Fight: Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome

Hello, we are the Carr family, and we’ve recently learned that our precious baby boy, Kian, has been diagnosed with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS) and a hole in his heart. In simpler terms, half of his heart has not developed as it should. As a result, Kian will need three major surgeries within his first few years of life, with the first one scheduled during his very first week.

In light of this, we’ve decided to forgo a traditional baby shower and instead set up this GoFundMe to help with the unexpected expenses due to Kian’s condition. HLHS is an incredibly rare heart defect, affecting about 1 in 4,000 babies, making Kian an extra special little boy. While we don’t know exactly what the future holds for him, we are doing everything we can to be prepared for whatever comes next.

We are reaching out for your support, whether through donations or even just keeping Kian in your thoughts and prayers. Your generosity will help us cover essential baby supplies like diapers, clothing, and other needs as we focus on Kian’s care and treatment as well as god forbid any unfortunate events occur, the funds will also help us with unforeseen medical costs like medication copayments and any other expenses that may arise during this challenging time.

Hola, somos la familia Carr, y recientemente nos enteramos de que nuestro querido bebé, Kian, ha sido diagnosticado con Síndrome de Corazón Izquierdo Hipoplásico (HLHS) y un agujero en su corazón. En términos sencillos, la mitad de su corazón no se ha desarrollado como debería. Como resultado, Kian necesitará tres cirugías importantes durante sus primeros años de vida, siendo la primera programada durante su primera semana.

En vista de esto, hemos decidido omitir un baby shower tradicional y en su lugar hemos creado este GoFundMe para ayudarnos con los gastos inesperados debido a la condición de Kian.
