Our grand daughter, Kiana Romero Weaver, 8 years old, was diagnosed with a cancerous cerebral tumor one year ago. Surgery was successful at the time, however, it has recurred. She had her 2nd surgery at Children’s Hospital Colorado, on February 9, 2016. We now know this to be the very rare - Astroblastoma. They were able to remove most of the tumor. She will require 6 - 8 weeks of radiation therapy 5 days a week at CHC. While Medicaid is covering medical expenses, family is burdened with travel expenses from our home in Taos, NM to Colorado to be with her during this extended stay.
We need your help to cover lodging, food, gas and house rent for Nicole (Kiana’s Mom) for that period of time. Nicole Romero recently earned her master’s degree from UNM. It will be necessary for her to take a leave of absence from her job as a UNM adviser throughout Kiana’s treatment.
Every contribution will help sustain this family through this medical crisis. We are so grateful for all the prayers and support we have received and any help to reach our financial goal as soon as possible will be put to immediate use from now through May 8!
