Supporting Kiana Fujii Through a Critical Medical Journey
Hello, my name is Shelbie Fujii, and I’ve created this fundraiser on behalf of my daughter, Kiana—affectionately known as Kiki—who is currently facing a deeply challenging and complex medical crisis.
Kiana has endured a long and painful journey due to endometriosis, a condition that has led to a cascade of severe health complications including dramatic weight loss, pelvic floor dysfunction, and gastrointestinal paralysis. Despite multiple treatments and surgeries, her condition has continued to progress aggressively.
Recently, doctors discovered a large mass surrounding her right ovary. During a robotic-assisted laparoscopic procedure, her surgical team uncovered a devastating reality: the endometriosis had advanced so severely that it fused her colon, bladder, rectum, and vagina together—a condition known as Frozen Pelvis. The surgeon spent over three hours carefully separating her organs and removing as much of the disease as possible. However, due to the extent of the damage and the risk of injuring her colon, the procedure had to be halted. A colorectal specialist is now urgently needed to complete the next phase of surgery. We do not yet know how soon that will take place.
Kiana’s diagnosis has been escalated from Stage 1 to Stage 4 aggressive endometriosis, with endometrial implants penetrating her rectal wall and colon. She remains hospitalized and is now experiencing internal bleeding, which is being closely monitored through imaging and further evaluation. We are currently waiting on a CT to see where the blood might be coming from.
Kiana will be out of work for an extended period, and unfortunately, her financial responsibilities won’t pause during her recovery. She is currently without income and will face significant medical expenses beyond what insurance can cover.
Her father and I are doing everything we can to support her, but we are humbly asking for help—from friends, family, and compassionate strangers—to give Kiana the grace and resources she needs to heal.
How You Can Help:
• Donate to assist with medical bills, food, and basic living expenses
• Share this fundraiser to help us reach others who may be able to support
• Participate in our upcoming Meal Train to provide vegan meals during her recovery
Every contribution, no matter the size, makes a meaningful difference. We are deeply grateful for the outpouring of love and emotional support Kiana has received. She is surrounded by kindness, and that gives us strength to keep pushing forward.
Thank you for taking the time to read Kiana’s story. If you choose to donate, please know that your generosity is received with heartfelt gratitude.
With love,
Shelbie Fujii
