Kiana’s lupus journey started in June 2023 when she got sick with Mono and ended up in the ER with complications. She was transferred to Inova Children's Hospital in Fairfax, VA where multiple blood and urine tests as well as a kidney biopsy were performed. She had severe inflammation and bleeding in her kidneys. She was sent home on high doses of steroids and eventually more meds were added to try to save her kidneys from further damage and potential dialysis. Eventually she was diagnosed with Lupus. After hours of research and personal talks with other Lupus patients, the decision was made to take Kiana to Mexico for treatment. She has received multiple rounds of treatment and is responding very well. Her total treatment cost is estimated at $150,000.

Kiana and her family would like to thank everyone for all the prayers, encouragement, and financial support in this difficult journey. May God receive all the glory.

Update 3/8/25:

Total treatment cost so far is $109,000. $77,000 total donations have been received leaving a deficit of $32,000. Kiana's next treatment is in April 2025. Estimated cost for that treatment is $25,000.

Kiana's treatment in April went very well. Total cost so far = $122,000. Total donations received so far = $81,000. This leaves a deficit of $41,000. Thanks for your prayers and financial support.
