Hi, my name is Tam Luu. This past Sunday, we lost my father to a 15 month battle with lung cancer. My parents immigrated from Vietnam to the United States to give me and my three brothers every opportunity to build success and happiness. They worked tirelessly to provide for us. My dad was forced into early retirement during the 2008 recession with not a lot of savings, but my parents lived a very modest life, so it was enough for them to make ends meet. I’m afraid the loss of my dad with the medical bills and funeral costs will put my mom in financial hardship. My mom is a devout Buddhist and would honestly never ask for help. While I appreciate her faith, I’m a realist and I know you can’t survive off of love and peace alone. I’m asking for help for my mom to at least cover the funeral costs. If you are able to help, my family can’t thank you enough. If you aren’t able to contribute, your thoughts, prayers and love is more than enough.
