Kho Kho Bean Strong Fighter & Queen

Kho Kho Bean, Strong Fighter and Queen is exactly who Miss Khloe Grace is. In her five years of life she has endored trauma, pain, sadness and turmoil. Has that held her back? Never! Her smile is the most contagious trait about Khloe. She can merely walk into anyones life and brighten it up. Her adorable treble voice is a symphony of words that just melts your heart, you can just listen to her talk for days. She is top of her class, a soccor natural, and a girl scout. She's smart, hysterical, whitty, loving, and a Diva with a capitol D! She's a busy little bean.
This is where her next journey/battle begins. Khloe began expeirencing symtoms that had everyone baffled. A couple months ago her symptoms were becoming more frequent, she started to complain of severe neck pain at night that eventually led to vomiting, crying and screaming in excruiating pain. Khloe's mom took her to numerous doctors which turned up nothing. Some of you may be a mommy or a daddy, as you know, to continue to watch your child suffer with no anwsers is devastating. Finally a doctor considered a disorder called Chiari Malformation, which resulted in a scheduled MRI three weeks out. Amy and Glenn felt overwhelmed with that date, the unknown is a horrible thing to expeirence. There was nothing more they can do for Khloe's symtoms other then wait for the MRI. Khloe handled it like a trooper .
Finally they have reached the day of her MRI, the day that would change Khloe, Amy, and Glenns life forever as well as her extended family and friends. November 3rd, Amy woke up around 5:30am to feed her a meal before her noon scheuduled MRI, that was the only time she could eat. As you may know, children under a certain age must go under anesthesia to be as still as possible. At around 3:15 pm the neurologist rushed out into the waiting area where Amy and Glenn were patiently waiting. In a huff they stated that Khloe must be transferred to Albany Med immediately. They then stated that Khloe had a massive tumor in the cerebellum part of her brain (brain stem) as well as several others. She also has tumors in the lower part of her spine called the  thoracic and lombar. They had to move like lightning to try and release the fluid and pressure that has built up due to the massive tumor. Khloe was rushed into the OR to undergo a procedure called an External Ventricular  Drainage, which is a tube that drains the fluid around her brain as well as pressure relief. On that particular day and time if she hadn't had the MRI, Miss Kho Kho Bean would not be with us today.
Khloe began to stabilize and act like herself again. On the following day a conference was held by an excellent neurosurgeon and oncologist team on Khloes behalf. Based on the location, circumference and evidence of the massive tumor which is a little larger than 5cm (larger than a golf ball, smaller than a baseball)  doctors believe at this stage she has Pediatric Medulloblastoma‎. A very agressive, rare form of childhood brain cancer.
The plan for Miss Kho Kho Bean is surgery to remove the 5cm tumor which will take place on Tuesday, Novemeber 8th. Praying and hoping everything goes well, she will start to recover from brain surgery and begin chemo and radiation for the smaller tumors. Her time in the pediatric oncology unit is based on many factors; Removing the entirety of the tumor, how well she responds to the operation, and wether or not a permanent shunt will be needed. She will then be sent home when she is stable enough. Chemo and radiation will continue with weekly trips back and forth to Albany and scans every 3 months. This is a very long and emotional journey.
Glenn and Amy will be by Khloe's side day and night, every second, minute and hour. Living expenses, household bills as well as hopital bills will accumulate along with the holidays right around the corner. This is the most difficult change that any family can go through. Glenn and Amy were in the middle of planning an addition to their home, so renovation's as well as employment have come to a hault. Unfortunately Amy will not receive any compensation due to working two part time positions and Glenn is self employed.
