As many of you know, in May 2018, Khloe was diagnosed with stage 3 Neuroblastoma. We were able to remove it then without any further treatments, only checkups. December 2019, it’s back. We are unsure about how aggressive it is right now, but she does have another tumor in her lower belly. She has more scans on the 30th, and a biopsy on the 2nd. From there, we will get a treatment schedule.

Well it’s not the results we prayed for, but that’s okay. Our faith still stands tall.

It is neuroblastoma, again.

Next step:
MIBG scan - checks for other spots in the area
bone marrow biopsy - checks bones
port insertion - used for giving chemo, blood transfusion (like an IV)

For some reason, it didn’t show up in her urine like it did last time. We don’t know why. Maybe there’s not as many active neuroblastoma cells this time as last time, but we have absolutely no clue. The HVA was 60 last time, and this time it’s 22, which is the max normal. If all we did was urine tests and no ultrasounds we would not to know this tumor was even there.

We’ll start chemo once we get the result of the genetics testing (Estimating the 22nd of January will be our 1st treatment). The genetics testing will determine how aggressive it is and if its only in the tumor. If it’s in more places than just her tumor; we’ll get sent to another hospital with more advanced medicines/treatments (Houston or Dallas area). If it’s only on the tumor; we will start chemo treatments here in Temple and it’ll be 3-5 days of treatments then a 3 week break with checkups once a week. Typically with chemo in younger kids, they don’t get as sick but every person is different. Her hair will randomly start to fall out, too.

Our prayer now is for the neuroblastoma to ONLY be in the tumor. Pray with us that it hasn’t spread anywhere else in her body.

GOD IS SO GOOD!!! Khloe’s genetics were negative, meaning it’s only in the tumor, and NOT aggressive!! ❤️ we are still waiting for the bone marrow results but the way it’s looking, it should negative too!! Thank you Lord!! ❤️

Well, I got the call we were waiting for but I definitely wasn’t ready for it.
We will go in on Monday morning and he’ll explain to me the results, and then we start chemo Monday afternoon. In 4 days, my baby’s world changes.

We are still so blessed, and our faith is stronger than ever but also very emotional towards it. Please send extra extra extra prayers for us this week! #KhloeStrong

Well bad news..I don’t really know where to begin.

After getting the MIBG scan, which is positive now — last time it was negative, Dr. McGregor is hesitant to start the initial treatment plan; Chemo for 4-8 months at McLanes Children’s Hospital in Temple.
There’s 3 factors that he’s looking at and that is
1. Khloe’s age, 18+ months is very risky, and the stages go up.
2. The histology of the tumor (how it looks under the microscope).
3. How NON-resectable it is.

Because of these 3 things, he’s worried it may be considered a high risk treatment. Her cancer is very unique since it came back differently than the first time, and he’s stuck at what our next step is. He thinks we could go on and do our initial plan, but if her cancer were to come back again after chemo, that’s very concerning. We are NOT getting chemo today. He’s setting us up an appointment with Dr. Granger (Specialist in Neuroblastoma) at Cooks Children’s Hospital in Dallas on Thursday. From there, we’ll know our options. The high risk plan is WAY more intense. It requires more treatments than just chemo, and it would be for at-least 3 years.
