Hi friends. I’d like to tell you about a long time dear friend of mine, Nicole Dunn Brandon, and the fight against the A.L.L. Leukemia that her only child, Khloe was recently diagnosed.

I met Nicole in Flight Attendant training for Southwest Airlines in 1999. She became a fast friend with her incredibly jovial personality, a tremendously giving heart, and always the group “mama” when we needed a shoulder to cry on, or just a hug and comfort. All of these years Nicole has never changed. Nicole met and married her husband Paul and they had their beautiful daughter Khloe on New Years Day, 2010. Nicole immediately fell head over heels in love with motherhood and enjoyed doting on her sweet baby Khloe every single day. Fast forward to December 27, 2018, and Khloe was diagnosed with A.L.L. Leukemia.

Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia is a malignant disease of the bone marrow in which early cancerous cells multiply and replace normal healthy white blood cells of the marrow. A.L.L. is the most common type of cancer and leukemia in children in the United States. Khloe can experience fever, anemia, bleeding, blood clots, bone Pain, rashes from skin infiltration with leukemia cells and possible left upper quadrant fullness and early satiety due to splenomegaly. As a parent, this has absolutely crushed Paul and Nicole. Feeling so helpless to fix this for their baby. On December 31, 9 years to the day that her mama entered the hospital to give birth to her, Khloe began her first huge chemo treatment at Cooks Children’s Hospital in Fort Worth, Texas. After spending her 9th birthday in the hospital with aggressive chemo and steroids, she pushed through and truly became, Khloe Brandon Brave. Some may say she is the strong one for everyone. Khloe is a very sweet, beautiful, smart and caring young lady who should never have to go through this in her youngest years.

I’ve come to ask for your help to lend support to the Brandon family. Nicole’s job as a flight attendant requires her to be away for several days at a time, every single week. She does have intermittent leave she can use to care for Khloe, but that also means no income for those periods of absence from the plane. Please help me, her family, and her friends, to make this extremely hard period in their lives a little bit easier by donating whatever you can to help her stay out of the skies and with her beloved only baby to help her fight this cancer. No child should have to go through what Khloe is going through. But helping the family financially is truly buying time for her family to rightfully be together while they kick this cancer out of their lives.
