JUSTICE FOR GRACIE

On  November 2019, we came home to fine that my granddaughter's therapy horse  was attacked along with our 31 year old Quarter horse Gracie was killed  by my neighbor's dog. Gracie was dead my Granddaughter was so upset she could not eat, sleep and lost her smile , she did not even want Christmas.  Christmas to very hard on us financially with medical bills for Penny and more therapy for my granddaughter that went back into her shell.   The neighbor admitted to the police that the dog came home covered in blood. The admitted that they were not going to call the police and that they washed the dog. In January the dog was deemed dangerous. The neighbors still were driving and walking the dog pass my house every time my granddaughter was outside. I wanted the ordinance changed in Lake Helen  to protect people from this happening again. This took over 8 months of the city administrator pushing it back. The new ordinance was passed on August 14, 2020 that was the first time since this happened my granddaughter slept through the night. We are still being terrorized by the driving pass our house every time granddaughter is outside. Now when they go past my house they make sure the dogs head is only a little out the window. 
This was not first attack on a mini horse on my  property this happen three years ago to the day. Whey our first mini named Teddy was attacked in the field with Penny. Penny had bad injuries that took a real long time to heal. With all the injuries that Penny has had in three years she is still under care and needs to have a cyst removed. With the cost of all the medical bills with Penny and my granddaughter and no help from the parents. I am asking for help. We got custody of our three grandchildren three years ago and my granddaughter was making progress until this happened. We would like to get her another therapy animal one that had to same connection that she had with Gracie . Little children should not have to go through what these children have had to go through. The only thing that good came out of this is that we got a dangerous dog registry in Lake Helen named Bella's dangerous dog registry however, it is so buried in the Lake Helen PD site that it is hard to find. Please help if you can get my little granddaughter another  therapy animal  when she is ready.
