Everyday Kingsbridge Heights Community Center strives to provide stellar programming to all our Bronx participants. Please help us support our Youth Programs (serving children ages 5-19), as we embark on our 3rd Annual Bowl-A-Thon, April 29th 2016, to raise proceeds that will go directly to the programs.
Nearly half of the youth in our program come from single-parent families, and 78% of parents work full time (some work more than one job). Under such circumstances, it is challenging for parents to spend time with their children with so many competing needs.
Bronx streets pose a threat to youth without direction. The lure of gang involvement, risky sexual behavior, and drug and alcohol abuse are always looming. KHCC gives local youth opportunity to cultivate talents, skills, and leadership capacities. It allows them to interact with peers in sports, the arts, and other special interest activities, and contribute to their community.
Without these programs, our youth may not have the support needed to graduate from high school, gain entry into college and begin thriving careers.
