For Lydia

Hi, my name is Alice, I am 8 years old and I would like to raise money to support my 7 year old cousin, Lydia, who is an amazing, kind, clever and sporty person but unfortunately is currently very poorly.

Last month Lydia became quickly unwell from a twisted bowel due to an unknown congenital malformation and had a cardiac arrest. Fortunately she was saved but required major surgery on her tummy and sustained brain injury. This means that Lydia is having to relearn how to walk, talk, eat, use her arms/hands and see. She is doing incredible and currently exceeding all expectations. Her determination and strength is phenomenal and inspirational, however there is still a very long journey ahead, with many different and difficult hurdles and challenges to overcome.

Lydia will require regular therapy and different types of specialist equipment to give her the best outcomes from her rehab.

I have decided to raise money to help with this and any extra costs her family may be faced with during this challenging journey ahead and the ongoing costs in the future, such as home adaptions, motability vehicle and ongoing specialist neuro-rehabilitation.

I have decided to swim/cycle/run the distance from my house in Nottingham to Sheffield Childrens Hospital where Lydia is currently being cared for, which is 40 miles. I will aim to do this in 2 months and I will keep an active log of swims/cycles/runs completed.

I want my cousin to have the best chance of recovery that she possibly can have. My family and I would be very grateful for any donations made, thank you in advance.
