IMPORTANT UPDATE OCT 15: We are scaling down the project to the primary 2.5 acre site (looking for a buyer for the other site), so we only need to raise another £20k to realize the beautiful dream! Please note, we are not currently accepting donations via GoFundMe. Please contact us to make a pledge or offline donation instead.
Vaheguru ji ka Khalsa Vaheguru ji ki Fateh! Sat Sri Akaal!
Do you want to experience how the Gurus lived and connect with your cultural and spiritual roots? Picture beautiful mud homes, hand-weaving, Gurbani calligraphy and meditating in nature – in a working period village set in 1699, with an educational centre, art gallery, camps, Seva and organic farms.
I’m Dr. Preetam Singh, an expert in Organics, Sustainability and our historic Khalsa and Punjabi Culture, Lifestyle and Crafts. For over 12 years, I have led a grassroots initiative and quiet revolution: to create the “Mata Nanaki Khalsa Eco-Village” – a spiritually awakened, environmentally sustainable, and community-led living heritage eco-village on 5 lush acres near Anandpur Sahib, Punjab (The birthplace of the Khalsa). Modelled on the Guru’s historic system of the Dharamshal (not just a Gurdwara – a village of Gurmat, Culture and Nature). It will focus on reviving our ancient Punjabi and Khalsa culture and lifeways, nature-orientated spirituality and nature conservation. Everything is ready: Knowledge gained, site designed, permissions obtained, volunteers ready – but we’re short of funds to buy the land.
**I have put in £15k, we have fundraised £35k and we now urgently need to raise another £20k to secure the land before it's sold to developers**
The Need: Due to Genocide and lifestyle change, our rich cultural heritage and ancient spiritual lifestyle in harmony with Pavan, Pani and Dharti (Air, Water and Earth) has been lost. Punjab is the “Cancer Capital of the world”, heavily deforested and running dry due to intensive chemical farming imposed by Indira Gandhi. This devastation has imperiled our society with spiritual disconnection and moral decline, our children are facing an existential crisis of identity, and Punjab risks becoming a barren wasteland. Many Sikhs worldwide want to re-connect with their cultural roots and learn the Organic life as taught by the Gurus, but there are no meaningful opportunities beyond children’s camps and traditional Punjabi culture is virtually extinct.
Core Projects:
1. 1699 Khalsa Heritage Village (“Working Cultural Museum”) and Art Gallery

3. Organic Langar Permaculture Farm, Orchard and Gardens
4. Traditional Vernacular Architecture and Sustainable Living Systems
5. Khalsa Wellness and Nature-Orientated Simran Retreats
6. Guru Nanak Sacred Forests & Rewilding Zones

The Team: Educated Gursikhs from the UK, Canada, Malaysia and Punjab, with a wealth of knowledge and practical skills. Project-managed on the ground by Dr. Preetam Singh. Daljit Singh Khalsa, Sikh philosopher, is supporting outreach, Sangat coordination, and Diaspora relationships. 15 local families will support the Seva long-term.
Call to Action: This is a humble appeal to the Global Community to support this important project. The revised project budget is £70k for phase 1 covering the land purchase (Only 2.5 acres site A). We have fundraised £35k through Oct 15 and I have personally contribututed my humble savings of £15k to the cause, giving us £50k. We now just need to raise a further £20k to secure the land. There will then be exciting opportunities for Seva!
So please Sangat ji, talk to your friends and family and pool together £55k and we'll be able to purchase the land in time! Please contact us to make a pledge or offline donation as GoFundMe has tax issues and takes a sizeable %. Include your contact details and WhatsApp.
