Hi, my name is Ranveer Singh, I am the founder and editor-in-chief of Khalis House Publishing Ltd.
Two years ago, with your incredible support, we launched our first fundraising campaign to bring book printing in-house. Together, we raised £8,000, purchased professional equipment, and transformed the way we work. The results have been remarkable.
Since then, Khalis House has grown from strength to strength. To date, we have published 50 titles (up from 15 at the time of that first appeal), with over thousands of copies distributed across the UK, Canada, America, and Australia. A further 12 book projects are currently in the pipeline, ready to reach readers in the coming months.
This growth has been possible because of your pledges towards independent Sikh and Panjabi publishing.
Now, we’re ready for the next step in our publishing journey: bringing hardback printing in-house.
Why hardbacks?
Many of our writers are producing works that deserve to be treasured and preserved. Hardback editions will give them the presentation they deserve. At present, outsourcing hardback printing is costly and limits what we can offer. With our own machinery, we can raise quality control, reduce costs and make high-quality Sikh literature more accessible.
Hardbacks will allow us to publish not only standard books, but also Pothi Sahibs and Gutka Sahibs - of which we have requests pending, collectors’ editions, reference works, and long-lasting texts for libraries and educational settings.
Our goal
We have identified the machinery we need and allocated part of the funds already. To complete the purchase, we are seeking to raise £15,000.
Our pledge
Your contribution will directly strengthen the foundations of Khalis House and allow us to:
- Continue supporting authors across the Sikh Diaspora.
- Launch hardback editions of new and classic works.
- Expand our events, competitions, and podcasts that celebrate Sikh writing.
Together, we can ensure Sikh literature not only flourishes in the present, but is preserved for generations to come — books that are not just read, but kept, cherished, and passed on.
