After being shot while sleeping in his bed, 7-year-old Khalil survived a tragedy no child should endure. Now, he’s too afraid to return home. Help his mother relocate so he can begin to heal in safety.

Early one Wednesday morning, 7-year-old Khalil Chwazi Molargik was sound asleep in his bed — a place where every child should feel safe.

Then, in a devastating act of violence, someone shot up the wrong house, and Khalil was struck twice while he slept.

Miraculously, Khalil survived. But his world has changed forever.

He’s in recovery now — physically and emotionally — and while his body is healing, his heart is still afraid.

He’s terrified to return to the home where it all happened.

The place that once felt safe now feels like a nightmare.

His mother is doing everything she can to help him heal, but she urgently needs help to move and start fresh in a safer place — where Khalil can sleep without fear, and where their family can begin to rebuild their lives.

This fundraiser is to help cover:

   •   Relocation expenses to move Khalil to a new, safer home

   •   ️ Basic furnishings for a child recovering from trauma

   •   Mental health support and trauma therapy for Khalil and his family

   •   Lost work and care-related needs as his mother supports his recovery

Khalil didn’t deserve this. He is a brave, beautiful child who is still here — still fighting, still smiling through the fear. But he should not have to fight alone.
