Hi friends,

I'm in the process of writing and releasing a children's book. The book is an ode to my amazing grandmother and best friend Icemae (Ms. Icy). The book follows the story of an eight-year-old boy, Khalil, and his sister. They are raised by their grandmother, Ms. Icy. Ms. Icy is an amazing grandmother who is loved by everyone in their apartment building and in the neighborhood.Nonetheless, Khalil's world turns upside down when a classmate makes him feel like he can't experience love because he is not raised by his mother or father. This story chronicles all the ways in which Khalil experiences love, as told my his grandmother.

I am writing and releasing this because so many youth are raised by grandparents and come from situations where parents are working on themselves, or may not be around. It is my hope that any young boy or girl raised by grandparents can see themselves in this story and know that they are loved.
