Khalie VS Lymphoma

Hi everyone!! First off, thank you so much for taking the time to view Khalie's GoFundme page. Khalie has been dealing with a persistent and growing lump on the right side of her neck since 2019. She underwent multiple CT scans, blood works and a biopsy since then. Unfortunately, for the better part of three years, Khalie's healthcare team failed to refer her to an Oncologist. She was told everything from enlarged or reactive Lymph nodes to possible Lymphatic blockage. Finally!! in December of 2021, she was referred to an ENT surgeon to undergo diagnostic surgery. This brought us to earlier this week when our girl received the terrible news that she had been diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma. It's crazy and so scary for her that this disease has been present for three years, and now she’s waiting for her first PET-CT scan, which will show how aggressive the Lymphoma is and where it has gone.

Khalie is set to start her chemotherapy on the 16th of this month, and we are all just trying to support and comfort our brave girl before she starts this fight.

Our GoFundme plea is simply this... Khalie has never been through something like this, and has no idea what to expect. Khalie’s Oncologist advised that due to the physical nature of her job, he recommends not working through the chemo treatment (6 months + recovery time). Her insurance told her that she has met her deductible, but her out-of-pocket max could potentially be $30,000. She's looking into whether or not her insurance has STD (short-term disability), but everything is overwhelming and up in the air. Khalie was against me starting this page because she viewed it as asking for a handout, but after talking with family and close friends we understand that everyone needs a little help sometimes. My hope and prayer is that Khalie, through your love and generosity, can simply put her head down, gather her strength and her faith, and solely focus on the battle ahead.
