Support for the Family of Khaled Al-Abed

With great sadness, we share the passing of our dear neighbor and friend, Khaled Al-Abed, who passed away on Tuesday, March 25. Khaled was a man of kindness, generosity, and unwavering support for those around him.

Khaled was born in Lebanon before eventually making Vancouver his home. Here, he became a beloved member of the community—always willing to lend a helping hand, no matter the task. Whether it was fixing a neighbor’s broken sink, troubleshooting electrical issues, or even driving half an hour just to help me get my car running, Khaled was the first to show up and never expected anything in return.

Khaled was a pillar of kindness and service. He frequently visited many mosques across Vancouver, always eager to connect with and support his community. His presence brought warmth and reliability—whether it was helping a neighbor with household repairs or simply offering a friendly conversation and advice. He truly embodied what it means to be a good friend, a good neighbor, and a good man.

Khaled was also a devoted husband and father, leaving behind his beloved wife, two sons (16 and 15), and a 13-year-old daughter. As the sole provider for his family, his sudden passing has left them not only heartbroken but also facing significant uncertainty and are in need of your help.

We are starting this fundraiser to help his family during this difficult time. The funds will go toward essential expenses, including household costs, rent, and supporting his children’s future. Every donation, no matter the amount, will make a difference in ensuring his family has the stability and support they need.
