Shadi Khader was diagnosed with Stage 4 Glioblastoma on November 6, 2019. It is a rare and aggressive brain tumor.

On January 9, 2012, Shadi’s lifelong dream came true when he was sworn in to the New York Police Department. Shadi proudly served in the 14th Precinct. While on the job in the fall of 2019, Shadi suffered a major seizure and was rushed to Lenox Hill Hospital. After MRIs and ct scans, his family was informed that there was a mass on his head that was later confirmed to be a brain tumor. The amazing doctors and staff quickly scheduled to remove the tumor on November 11, 2019. After several hours, the doctors were able to remove most of the tumor, but unfortunately not all of it. A few days later, it was confirmed to be a grade IV glioblastoma.

Since then, Shadi has undergone chemotherapy, radiation and avastin treatments. It has been 18 months of searching and trying any available treatments. Shadi has been a true fighter and continues to fight with the help of his loving and dedicated family and friends. Throughout this battle, there have been some wins, but many losses. The Khader family really needs all the support they can get from their amazing community of family and friends.

Shadi is a devoted husband to his wife Sandra who is a teacher. Together, they have three adoring sons - Nicholas, 12, Mason, 10 and Christian, 2.

Shadi is now at the point in this disease, where it is extremely difficult for him and all those who love him. He requires constant medical attention and assistance with all of his daily functions. All money raised will go towards his immediate medical care.

Shadi has lived his life to serve and protect, both professionally and personally. It is time for all of us to help Shadi and his beautiful family get through this difficult time.
