Support Izzy’s Cancer Treatment

I am fundraising to support one of my best friends, Erin Gannon, to help cover the expense of emergency surgery and cancer treatment for her dog, Izzy.

In late 2024, a mass was found around Izzy’s upper teeth during a routine appointment, but the vet did not see a cause for concern and set up an appointment with a dental surgeon to remove it. In February, the dental surgeon removed most of the mass, which was subsequently diagnosed as maxillary osteosarcoma – a cancer found in the jaw. Because a small portion remained, Izzy was sent to an oncology vet for consultation and scans.

 

CT body scan results showed the OSA is contained in her jawline and thankfully has not spread. Izzy’s oncologist stated that with surgery to completely remove the mass, then potentially followed by 4 rounds of chemotherapy, she believes the cancer will be eliminated, thus adding a few more years to Izzy’s life, well past the initial prognosis of 6 months. She also said Izzy is otherwise very healthy, which will help in her fight.

 

Izzy is currently home with Erin while awaiting the scheduling for her surgery. In the meantime, I hope to help cover the medical expenses for Izzy. Erin is like a sister to me, and Izzy my furry niece, so any contribution would be so greatly appreciated by both Erin and I.
