I'm Eric's mother in law.
While at work this past Thursday Eric began to feel that something was not right. The left side of his body went numb and while trying to let others know he needed help, he dropped to the ground. 911 was called and an ambulance took him to the Heber Valley hospital. Shortly after, the decision was made to life flight him over the mountain to IMC in Murray. He is in the Neuro critical care unit and has been told he will be here at least 2-3 weeks. He had a subarachnoid hemorrhage and will need to be carefully monitored for additional bleeds during the next few weeks.
He has been in a lot of pain with a really intense headache. Because of the bleed there is a lot of pressure. They are keeping his blood pressure really low to prevent anymore bleeds. He has not had any more numbness, no loss of feeling, he is talking and is able to get up and walk around a little, and there doesn't seem to be any weakness in his left leg. So those are all good signs
Right now his wife is sitting here at the hospital with him and he has been really struggling tonight. Blood pressure and oxygen all seem to be doing good but his pulse rate keeps fluctuating really low. It goes down to 25-28 and then back up but is mostly hovering around the 40s. This is really low. They think it might be a reaction to one of the meds they gave him. Bradycardia is a reaction that 1% of people will have to it. If you could help in anyway, it would be appreciated.
He has a wife and five children. Two of which have disabilities, who need therapy every week.
