Graham’s Road to Recovery

Donation protected

On behalf of Graham Fraser, our family is organizing a GoFundMe. Many of you know my brother Graham from Whitecourt. He is friendly, passionate and always willing to help.

On August 23, 2024, Graham suffered a stroke and was admitted to the Glenrose Rehabilitation Hospital in Edmonton. He has spent the last 7 months recovering from the stroke, making incredible improvements, and determined to return to work. On March 12, 2025, Graham had a fall causing head trauma, leading to seizures and admission to the University of Alberta Hospital in Edmonton. On March 25th Graham was transferred to the Whitecourt Hospital. Due to a lack of bed space he was sent home. He will now continue his recovery and rehabilitation as an outpatient. This has set him back significantly in his recovery and in the hope to return to work.

On March 7, 2025, employment insurance (EI) denied him extended short term disability. Graham does not immediately qualify for CPP due to his age (58). Graham faces a long road to recovery, and will not be able to earn an income for an extended period of time. We are asking the community for help to ease the financial burden, allowing Graham to recover without the stress of basic living costs.
