Olivia’s medical journey❣️

*UPDATE* Olivia was seen in October 2023 down in Cincinnati Ohio, We went from being told she will need one thing to needing open heart surgery again, a pediatric thoracic surgeon will be doing surgery on Tuesday April 23rd 2024 in Cincinnati, Ohio at the children’s hospital. As you all know I am currently out on Maternity leave, and only receive unemployment. I am not due back to work until after Olivia’s surgery. So this will help with everything we need to prepare for.Any donations will go towards traveling, food & lodge & any medical expenses. Hello everyone, my name is Angie Gorman for those who do not know me. And I am the mother of Miss Olivia Rose. Some of you have been following our journey and story for the last seven years. Olivia was born with a rare heart condition in 2015 at 2 days old and was rushed to the hospital for her O2 dropping very low, it wasn’t until a week later we found out she was born with a rare heart condition, and in 2017 she had open heart surgery. We thought that would help her, But she was diagnosed with tracheomalacia, and in shorter terms that means she has a restricted airway and that was because of the rare heart condition she had. Olivia has severe asthma & is very limited on physical activities and being a normal seven year old child. We have dealt with many hospital stays, many sicknesses, many surgeries and procedure’s for Olivia. Many of you don’t know, but Olivia is limited to being outside if it’s above 80° and below 40° her classroom and school has to be at a certain temperature. She uses her own air purifier in school. Last year we were referred to the Children’s Hospital of Pennsylvania but because of insurance coverage it is very hard for us to go down for appointments to get our foot in the door. We were lucky last year to have some friends and family help us get there but here we are over a year later and we haven’t been down since because of insurance coverage recently Olivia recently had a surgery in July and her doctors here at Upstate Hospital said that she needs to get seen by a airway specialist (that we do not have here in NY) because the more she gets sick the more her lungs will collapse. So now we are being referred to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital in Ohio, this fundraiser will help cover any appointments, help us get our foot through the door, and any traveling expenses. They currently have 2 appointments set up for October 17th & October 19th, for a CT scan, echo Test & another triple scope surgery. Olivia needs this more than anything, she is the most beautiful and strong little girl❣️ She is a WARRIOR and I will fight and do anything I can to get us there for her. Her health is my number one priority. I ask you to please take this into consideration to helping us, and our journey, we will be forever grateful even if you cannot donate please share please get the word out. No one deserves this more than she does.
