Send Mrs. Sanderlin to Shanghai

Greetings!  My name is Kimberly P. Sanderlin!  I have been a proud EDUCATOR for 7 years!  Each and every day I give 100% to the profession and the learners with which I am charged to teach!  I am constantly seeking any professional development opportunities that will help enrich my teaching.  

On January 12th I found out that I am 1 of 12 North Carolina teachers chosen as a 2015 Fulbright Hays Group Project Abroad (GPA) fellow.  The highlight of the year-long program is 4-weeks abroad in China (Shanghai, Beijing, Suzhou, and other surrounding areas) to study the culture and observe local schools.  Upon my return, I have been charged with the following project tasks:
- creating and implementing a learning unit infused with Chinese culture, history, and language
- presenting about my experiences at state and national teacher conferences

I am extremely honored about being chosen and know that the experience will not only enrich me as a professional, but will enrich the learners with which I am charged to educate for years to come!  However, I know that this opportunity will NOT be possible without YOUR help!  While the Fulbright Hays organization provides $5000, I must raise $2000 by February 15th to cover the remaining costs (such as my pre-departure courses, insurance, and program administration fees).  Your help will alleviate any additional burden on my family; especially during the toughest financial months for us as 10-month state employees.
