BaahLand Sheep Therapy and Sanctuary
We have no money or shelters to get our animals through winter; please help if you can.
We are a privately owned and funded sanctuary who due to this crazy year and all the troubles it has bought, have lost all the investment funds we were using to run the sanctuary and we now need funds to get our animals through the winter, for food and vet bills, and help build better animal shelters as most of ours got damaged in the bad winds of last winter.
Baah-Land is home to over 110 sheep of so many varieties, all with individual stories, but all saved from slaughter and able to live a happy life out with us (plus some goats, chickens, and geese who all live happily together.
We rescued one yesterday who is tiny, about the size of a small dog, who was going to be slaughtered because her owner died (over 1000 sheep had to be re-homed but we only could take one) and this is just one of our rescue cases.
The sanctuary owners called her Little Lorri and look below to see how much I like cuddles!
Some have been bottle fed as babies in our homes to help us get through the first nights, some are over 20 years old, some look like Teddy Bears, one looks like Bugsy, and some look like badgers! To see some amazing faces, go to www.baahland.co.uk
In March 2021, we will be opening for the first time to visitors to invite them in to see the healing benefits of sheep themselves.
Sheep are so gentle and calming, to spend a few hours at our sanctuary, really does calm the soul and soothe the mind.
Animal therapy is widely recognised as hugely helping with mental health, so in 2021, our aim is to provide as many visitors as possible with time with our sheep to decompress from the worries of modern life, turn their phones off, and sit with us and have some gorgeous vegan cake and coffee and have a chat after their amazing visit.
We have a huge cash shortfall immediately so please do check us out and if you are able to donate at all to help us get through the winter, we would be hugely hugely grateful.
We are a small team who work for no money and spend all the money we get on the animals who are all absolutely incredible!

Update 10th October... one of our founders went off to pick up Little Lorri's sister and came back with 7 sheep that were destined for slaughter! She has the biggest heart but we are struggling already so it's going to be even harder now. But we will manage as the animals always come first.
They are a little bewildered but they will be welcomed in to the flock after a few days of acclimatisation and checking them over to make sure all is OK.
Little Lorri's sister is even smaller than he is! More pics and video to follow on that shortly.
