Athena’s Surgery

So this is a tough write but about 2 weeks ago our dog ‘Athena’ had a black bump on one of her nipples. It made us nervous so we got it tested. Although our hopes were high they called back and wanted to get it tested at MSU pathologist after finding certain cells.

1 week later the pathologist called us back with results that Athena likely has carcinoma. The news was crumbling and unexpected, and unfortunately at a time where finances are tight.

We are in the process of returning Christmas gifts, selling any items we can, and pulling money from savings. However, the surgery process with recovery could cost up to $5000.

Out of fear of falling short we are creating an ‘Athena Fund’ to make sure we can take care of this sweet girl. Any extra money raised will be donated to the shelter but as of now we need any help we can get.

We are overwhelmed and have never been good at asking but if anyone wants to chip in I would eternally be grateful to you and would never forget that type of kindness.
