Brittney is the15 year old daughter of Kevin and Steph Host from West Lebanon, Oh. Brittney has a twin sister Danielle and an older sister Kaylee. Brittney is a beautiful soul who loves animals, especially dogs, and is passionate about playing softball for the Golden Bears at Waynedale Highschool where she is a Sophomore. Brittney works at Winesburg Dariette where her co-workers have described her as sweet, kind and selfless, and someone who would spend her last dollar to help another and now Brittney needs our help!
Brittney has been diagnosed with a rare form of cancer called Ewing's Sarcoma. Brittney had been experiencing debilitating pain while on Christmas break and after frustrating calls to the doctor, trips to Stat Care and to the Emergency Department, she was sent to Akron Children's Hospital where she underwent emergency surgery in the early morning hours of December 31st, 2015 to remove a tumor found on her spine. Biopsy results confirmed her family's worst fear; cancer.
Brittney will be hospitalized for several weeks and has a long road ahead of her which includes physical therapy to regain her strength to walk, and chemotherapy in attmept to shrink the remaining tumor as doctors were only able to get 50% of the tumor in surgery.
Please pray for healing for Brittney and for her family as they support her through this. Brittney's mother Steph has been unable to work as she has not left her daughters side, which has and will continue to cause financial stress as they depend on the income of both parents. Due to the circumstances, I want to help this wonderful family as much as possible. My goal is to raise money to take some of the financial burden off of this family so they can focus on Brittney. I know even as adults, when we become sick we want our mother's loving touch. Let's pull together and raise some money so that Brittney can have her mom by her side during this time! Thank you all so much!
