Support former Cronulla Shark Nathan Stapleton
Donation protected
Aramex Australia, in partnership with the Cronulla Sharks, is dedicating this year’s Christmas fundraising drive to former NRL first-grade player Nathan Stapleton and his family. Nathan suffered a devastating spinal cord injury in April and is now a quadriplegic, paralysed from the shoulders down. For every dollar donated, Aramex will match it - dollar for dollar - up to $10,000. Together we can raise $20,000 that will assist with Nathan’s ongoing medical bills and care of his young family.
Nathan Stapleton is an inspiring husband, father of two young boys and former professional athlete and farmer. Many people remember him as a spirited Cronulla Sharks player, tearing down the field in black, white and blue.
On 9 April 2022, Nathan’s life changed forever when he suffered a devastating spinal cord injury while playing in a local rugby union match in West Wyalong. Thanks to an incredible effort to save his life, Nathan survived and was airlifted to Sydney for emergency treatment.
Now rendered a quadriplegic, Nathan is paralysed from the shoulders down. If anyone can overcome this injury, it is Nathan with his sheer grit, determination and love for his young family. There is no doubt he will require ongoing support, care and medical attention for the rehab and recovery effort. Funds raised will go towards that care, as well as to meet the needs of his wife Kate, toddler son Harry and infant son Angus, as they adapt to the enormous challenges ahead.
Everyone at Aramex Australia is in awe of the remarkable strength, optimism and teamwork of the Stapleton family. We are privileged to support this fundraising effort to donate much-needed funds to Nathan, his wife and sons.
