Hello! My name is Katie. My husband Steve and I are trying to save our 2-year-old English Pointer, Betty.
When we adopted Betty it was love at first sight. We became concerned she was a bit thin despite having a big appetite. After some blood work and ultrasound, we learned that she has a congenital portosystemic shunt in her liver. This condition prevents absorption of nutrients and developing properly. Left untreated, this condition turns neurological and is likely terminal. However, if treated with surgery, there is an 85% success rate.
Betty is pure love and the best dog. She loves being in the yard, chasing squirrels, and going on adventures with us all over Colorado and beyond. We Love Betty so much, and we are determined to give her this second chance.
We greatly appreciate anything you can give to help us get Betty on the road to recovery.
