There's never a good time to be diagnosed with cancer.....but the timing couldn't have been worse for Jennifer Anderson Browe.
At 41 years old, Jennifer has been diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma, better known as breast cancer, after having a routine mammogram only 6 weeks after having her first child. Since diagnosis, she reluctantly had to resign from her job of over 13 years and had a double mastectomy on June 24th. For the past month, Jennifer has been unable to care for or hold her 4 month old daughter, Lexi, which has been heartbreaking for her. She has had to rely on her husband, family, and friends to care for her new daughter and having to watch them do it has been difficult when she only wants to do it herself.
Shockingly, the pathology from Jennifer's mastectomy showed the cancer had spread into her lymph nodes. She is now traveling to Memorial Sloan Kettering in NYC to find out what treatment is to follow, which will include months of chemo and radiation, a hysterectomy, and several years of hormone therapy. Instead of being able to spend the time with her newborn, her days are filled with appointments, tests, and doctor's visits.
Over the past 10 plus years, Jennifer has done so much for others. She has raised money for cancer, collected food for pantries, made sure children and their families had an amazing Christmas, and served meals to the homeless. It's now time for us to help her. It's never fair for someone that is battling cancer to have to worry about surmounting medical bills (we all are aware how quickly they add up), especially starting out with a new family.
We all know Jennifer's strength as we've seen it time and time again. She is unfairly facing the battle of her life and right now more than ever needs our support. I urge you to help in any way you can as the next few months are going to be extremely challenging for Jennifer and her family. Any amount is greatly appreciated.
We will fight this together and we will beat this together.
