My name is Kip and I’m creating this GoFundMe to help my brother and his family who are in need during this trying time. My brother Wes thought he might have Covid-19 last week, as he was experiencing the symptoms associated with the virus. He tested negative for the virus but was still in a lot of discomfort and having trouble breathing. After a discussion with his doctor, he was told to go to the ER, and after running many tests the doctors determined he has Acute Myeloid Leukemia.
He has been transported to a hospital that specializes in this type of cancer and started receiving chemotherapy treatments within 5 days of being admitted to the ER. He will remain hospitalized for a minimum of four weeks and due to Covid restrictions will not be able to see his family until he has fully recovered. If his treatments go as planned he will have to return to the hospital for one week each month for four months to continue receiving intensive chemotherapy.
Given he will be unable to work during this trying time we wanted to set up this fund to try and ease the burden on him, his wife Maddie, and his two wonderful boys Aden and Harrison. His wife Maddie has Chronic Lyme Disease, so this family has already been through a great deal of hardship. To make things even more devastating, they just purchased their first home a week before his diagnosis and with his disability income being only 60% of his normal wages they are unable to afford the mortgage.
If you have the ability to donate any amount our family would greatly appreciate the support. Any funds received will be used to pay medical bills, cover loss of income, and support the family while Wes is hospitalized.
