RISD Tuition for Boris Gramajo, incredible artist
Donation protected
This is not my story; it's the story of a young man destined for greatness, of a national award winning artist yearning for an education, and of a kid who can't afford college. It's the story of Boris Gramajo, a young man I have come to admire and respect not only for his extraordinary talent, but for his character. Suffice it to say he has had an unusual and difficult path through no fault of his own; instead of faltering, he has persevered and excelled. Boris has been accepted to the Rhode Island School of Design--the Harvard of art schools and received generous financial aid. Nevertheless he can't afford to attend. I am dedicated to making this kids' dream a reality. Please DONATE HERE to help us change the life of a kid by giving him the promise of a well deserved education!
JUDGE FOR YOURSELF....BORIS' ARTWORK:
The first piece is his History of Art Lantern Tree with over 7,300 hand- made leaves. It sits atop a carved history of art book. The trunk depicts the faces of famous artists as well as famous pieces of art such as the Mona Lisa.

The second piece depicts a carpenter making his tree house with a rear view of the piece in the upper corner. The details are amazing of his tools on the ground below the tree.

The third piece is a willow tree speaking to man's awareness of what he is doing to the environment. The tree bending under the weight of man's abuses.

The next piece shows the intricacies of Boris' work in a tiny portrayal of the house in the movie "Up". The scale is remarkable.

Boris' talent is diverse. The next two pieces show off his talent in watercolor and paint. The portrayal of Holden Caufield from Catcher in the Rye is stunning. The last page of the book when Holden has an epiphany is portrayed on his hat. Boris also won Best in Show in Film and Animation for a terrific animated piece he did last Fall unfortunately too large to attach here.

Boris' paper art is perhaps most beautifully illustrated in this national award winning piece, Life is A Journey. The details contained in the piece are photographed separately. Boris hand made the entire piece from the pages of a book and illuminated the moon and bridge. Love birds sit atop the bridge rail. A fox eating a strawberry is nestled in the trees. A man and woman row down the reed laden river, and, in my favorite moment of the piece, a humming bird drinks from the fruit of a flower.
