For most of you that know me, you know that my journey with Christ "started" almost 8 years ago and that those 8 years have brought big changes in me. What those 8 years have also done for me and my family, is remind us of the amazing blessings that we have received. Through our church and our experiences, we have grown to know many other people that have experienced tremendous struggles that our family hasn’t had to endure. And we have also found the desire to help those in need.
So in 2015 my family and I have developed 3 funds where we HOPE to raise money to help those in need. As much as I dislike asking for money from anyone, I also have seen amazing results when helping others in their time of need. The first fund is the most critical. We have a family friend whose life has been devastated by drug and alcohol abuse. The husband/father has been battling addiction for years, and has been a true example of the fact that drug abuse is a disease…not a choice. Job loss, loss of health and auto insurance, loss of all family vehicles, utility payments in the red, and countless nights in tears describes the last 6 months. What’s left is a family of 4 (while he rehabs in an isolated clinic), 3 young kids, and an amazingly positive young woman with a steep hill to climb. She has been an inspiration to us with her willingness to get her and her children’s life on the right track. My family and others are committed to helping them survive this tragedy. What we are asking from our friends and colleagues is some help. $25, $50, $100, $1,000…whatever you feel moved to assist with. While this young woman embarks on her new job search, we are trying to fund their first 3 months of utilities, mortgage, and get her a decent used vehicle (along with insurance) to provide for this family. We imagine ourselves in her position, and can’t imagine the challenge without help. So please consider helping us to fund their survival. All money will be used for necessary items (food, utility payments, mortgage, and insurance). Thanks to all and God Bless!
