HELP TERRA FIGHT CANCER!

We are the family and friends of Terra A Cheatham.

On January 1, 2007, Terra was born the day after and hours after her great-grandmother passed. It was like her grandmother was reincarnated through her as Terra has so many of her grandmother's characteristics that we called her little Ora Dell!

Terra is a very active young lady that loves cooking and playing various sports. She enjoys church, serves as a greeter/usher and helps run the snack store.

She is in the Lebron James "I Promise" program and attends Akron Early College, where she will be going into the tenth grade in the fall.

On March 1, 2022, this day changed all of our lives. Terra began having stomach pains, but she decided that she wanted to go to school anyway, even though she was in pain. However, she had to be picked up due to the pain that she was in.

Her grandmother took her to the Emergency Room to get checked out, and the doctors said that it seemed that she may have just pulled a muscle and sent her home with pain pills.

On March 5th, Terra was taken back to the ER as the pain had not subsided, they did an ultrasound and x-ray of her stomach, and once again, it was concluded that there was just a strain on her side, sending her home to rest. During this time, Terra continued to be in pain, going back and forth to the doctor, but they could not find anything wrong or understand why she was still in pain.

On Friday, March 18th, she was taken back to the hospital for an outpatient procedure to have a biopsy, and they found four legions on her left lung. Terra continued to have stomach pain, so we called her doctor for an appointment, but because she had been in pain for so long, the doctor advised us to take her back to the ER for more tests. They did another ultrasound, X-Ray and Cat Scan. It was determined that she had an infection because she had fluid on her lung. She was admitted into the hospital for observation to await the X-Rays and Cat Scan results. Two tumors were found at the bottom of her stomach and the other at the top of her kidney.

On March 24th, Terra went through another procedure on her stomach to determine what these tumors were. On March 25th, the doctors informed us that Terra had stage four Metastatic Alveolar Rhabdomyosarcoma Cancer.

On March 28th, Terra had surgery to put a port in and have a bone marrow test done, and they started chemo that evening. She was released from the hospital on April 1st.

Terra has now been having chemo every week, and her mother has to give her a shot of Granix daily. She takes three different types of pills every day. The shots are excruciating for her, and she screams in pain when she has to take them.

She will have another surgery on May 2nd.

Because Terra is going through chemo, she began losing patches of her hair, so she asked to have the rest shaved off.

Terra will continue the treatments that she is on. In June, she will begin having radiation which she will have Monday - Friday until August or September and then again in December for another 40 weeks.

We started this gofundme page to help Terra's mom Tedra, a single mother, Terra and her four brothers. Tedra is a traveling nurse who had to quit her job to take care of and support her daughter mentally and physically and take her to various appointments and hospital stays. Terra would love to have children someday, so she will have to have her eggs frozen due to having to go through radiation, as this procedure may make it a little harder for her to conceive when she is much older. Her mother needs assistance to help cover the cost of medication, medical bills and support for her other children due to leaving her job to support her daughter.

No donation is too small, and any donation is much appreciated. Thank you in advance for your monetary contributions, thoughts, prayers and support as Terra fights this horrible disease.

Thank you from the Family and Friends of Terra
