My name is Nandranie and I am writing on behalf of my daughter and best friend Keziah Persaud a 25 year old who has been chronically ill for the past two years! Keziah found out after many different diagnoses that she has Late stage - Chronic Lyme Disease.
I am appealing for help to get Keziah’s life back. She would love to go back to being the happy go lucky, jovial and active person she used to be.
This journey started two years ago when she became suddenly unwell after having her wisdom teeth extracted. Keziah had been working at a Paediatric clinic full time and started to experience numbness, pins and needles and weakness starting in the mouth and jaw and then spreading to all of her extremities.
She has undergone many tests such as Brain and Spinal MRI, blood tests, CT scans and neurological examinations and was told they didn't know what was wrong with her. The Doctor advised her to be seen as an outpatient with Neurology. At no point did we think or even know about Lyme disease. She continued to have many more tests, Doctors appointments and hospital visits.
Her symptoms continued to get worse, every month there was a new symptom or pain. During an out patient appointment she was told she had Sjogren's a neurological syndrome or possibly Lupus.
She was back and forth to the Doctors, Hospital, Naturopaths and chiropractors. Approximately a year after Keziah got ill she developed issues with rapid weight loss, chronic cough, full body weakness and suffers pain all over likely related to muscle deterioration. Her life has been turned completely upside downand she has unfortunately lost her independence not being able to care for herself and not being able to work.
Symptoms Keziah suffers with daily each day increasing in severity:
-Chronic cough
-Depression and anxiety
-Mobility issues (needs one-two person assist )
-Memory/concentration issues
-Loss of brain function & brain fog
-Muscle twitching, spasms & cramps
-Headaches & migraines
-Joint, nerve & bone pain
-Severe chest & neck pain
-Back, jaw, eye & hip pain
-Weakness in joints
-Numbness in limbs
-Raynaud’s Syndrome
-Chronic fatigue
-Unregulated body temperature
-Low B12, low vitamin D, low folic acid , low iron
The main priority for Keziah and our family is for her to get well again, as two years of her life has been lost to unexplained illness and misdiagnoses. Our Family have exhausted their means of paying for appointments, we are asking for your help. The only thing Keziah wants is to get better and get back to working and living the normal life of a 25 year old. She has been ill since she was 23 and I feel she has lost out on so much.
This illness has taken away too many years of her life let’s help get this treated and get her healthy again! Keziah is loved by all who meet her and is just all around one of the nicest people you could imagine.
All donations received will be used to pay for her treatment and expenses.
