An entire life is turned upside down by a cancer diagnosis, and it immediately becomes your every day thought, stress, and concern. The unfortunate reality is that cancer has touched each and every one one of us , and whether a winning battle, an ongoing battle, or a lost battle, we are all too familiar with the emotional, physical, and financial stresses wrought by the disease.

For these reasons, the Cancer Foundation of the Florida Keys was born. Each year the Foundation is able to award thousands of dollars to patients battling cancer in our Florida Keys communities, covering expenses such as medical bills, mortages, rents, utilities, insurance premiums, etc. In addition to financial assistance, the Cancer Foundation also offers educational materials, cancer screenings, referral services, and emotional support for patients, families, and caregivers.

On May 16th we will run the Keys 100 in support of the Cancer Foundation and all those battling this ruthless disease. Together in relay teams of 6, we will run from mile marker 100 in Key Largo along US Highway 1 to mile marker 0 in Key West. Throughout the past four months, we have clocked countless miles, endured sweaty practices in the Florida sun, stressed the time trials, and found motivation and support in each other.  

It is our sincerest hope that our effort will not only fuel us on race day, but also allow us to make a difference in the lives of those battling cancer. All money raised through this campaign will directly benefit the Cancer Foundation and patients in the Florida Keys!
