Cheeto has always been the funniest, quirkiest fat cat. He lives for treats, always running around the house looking for snacks and begging anyone who visits to feed him, even after he’s already had dinner. He’s been my best mate for years, playful, cheeky, and full of personality and side-eyes.
Lately, however, he hasn’t been himself. He’s dealing with a painful skin disease that makes him very itchy and prone to infection and illness. He spends most of his days ripping out his fur and now he doesn’t even have much of an appetite. It absolutely breaks my heart to see him so uncomfortable.
I’m still a student, and the little money I do make goes straight into his care. I couldn’t afford pet insurance when he was younger, and now that he’s older it’s no longer an option. The vet bills here in Hobart are very expensive, even juggling part time jobs / odd jobs alongside uni. They don't know what's wrong with him and the cost of his current medication, ongoing blood tests, allergy tests, specialist vet appointments, etc are more than what I can manage on my own.
Cheeto is an older cat and it will be very difficult for him to relocate or go to a shelter. My heart also couldn't handle it. He deserves to stay in his home, surrounded by love and comfort, where he feels safe. Any help at all would mean the world to us. Every donation will go directly to Cheeto’s vet bills and treatment so he can get back to being his treat-obsessed, playful self.
